General Information

Hoover Library’s primary mission is to support the academic needs of the students, faculty, and staff of McDaniel College. As a member of the Carroll Library Partnership, we are also open to the public. Visitors to the library have access to many of our materials and services.

Borrowing Privileges

McDaniel College extends borrowing privileges to the following through our non-campus borrower card program:

Non-campus borrower cards are issued at the Circulation Desk all hours that the library is open. Non-campus borrowers can check out the following materials for up to 3 weeks at a time:

  • Circulating Books
  • Government Documents
  • Music Scores

Other types of material may be used in the library, but cannot be checked out. A limit of 6 items can be checked out at a time.

Due to licensing restrictions, electronic resources such as databases, streaming videos and online journals are not available to non-campus users remotely. However, they can be accessed in the library.
