RSM 550 - Introduction to Research Methodology: Where to Begin

This guide contains resources for students in Dr. Zirpoli's EDU 550 - Introduction to Research Methodology class.

Where To Begin

Welcome to the RSM 550 - Introduction to Research Methodology subject guide!

There are a number of tabs on the left side of the page that will help you with your research.

A good way to begin is by searching the library catalog for books, CDs, and DVD's. You can also browse the shelves. Education books are generally found in the following call number ranges:

  • 370 Education
  • 371 Schools and their activities; special education
  • 372 Elementary education
  • 373 Secondary education
  • 374 Adult education
  • 375 Curricula
  • 378 Higher education
  • 379 Public policies issues in education

You can find the books you are looking for by locating the tag on the end of each book shelf that indicates the number range of the books on that shelf:

Another great way to start your research is by searching for journal articles. The databases listed on the Finding Articles tab at the top of this guide will direct you towards a few that are especially useful for the research you'll be doing in this class.

As always, if you need help, just ask a librarian!
