To search any of the newspapers, open the catalog you wish to view. Press CTRL+F on the keyboard at the same time to open a search box. Type in the word you are looking for in the box, and it will navigate to each instance of that word in the newspaper.
Newspapers are listed chronologically according to the academic year they were published, beginning in 1924. Click on the newspaper for the academic year you would like to research.
The Gold Bug for the years 1938-1939 and 1945-1946 are not currently available online. Please contact the Archivist to arrange an appointment to view hard copies of these years in the Archives.
All newspapers were digitized at 150 ppi and 8-bit grey, except for the years 1932-1935, which were digitized at 300 ppi and 8-bit grey. Any pages in color were digitized at 150 ppi and 24-bit color. Newspapers from 2012-present were digitized at 300 ppi and 24-bit color.

Original hard copies of newspapers are available for research in the McDaniel College Archives.
The 2019-2020 issues of the McDaniel Free Press end at March 6, 2020 after which no hard-copy editions of the paper were printed due to campus closure in response to COVID-19.
