McDaniel College Archives: Mission & Vision

Mission Statement

McDaniel College Archives serves as the primary repository for records that document the College's history as well as other unique collections that further the College's commitment to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and professional studies. The Archives supports Hoover Library's commitment to inclusive learning that enables engagement and scholarship through instruction, interpretation of, and access to its collections.

Vision Statement

As part of Hoover Library, McDaniel College Archives forms an integral component of scholarly interaction for the McDaniel community of learners. As such, the Archives will strive to: 

  • Collect, preserve, and provide access to an inclusive record that reflects the diversity of the campus' history, its origin, mission, and decision-making processes
  • Select, maintain, and provide access to other rare and unique collections of interest to the College community 
  • Support the research needs of students, faculty, staff, and the community through reference, instruction, and outreach services
