Hoover Library will close at 4:30PM on Tuesday, November 25, and be closed from Wednesday, November 26 - Saturday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The library will also close at 3PM on Wednesday, December 3, for the Out of Darkness: A Celebration of Light event.

About the Library: Room Reservations

The library has a number of spaces that can be reserved for various uses. To see all the spaces in the library, please use the library directory. Additionally, departments within the Learning Commons also have spaces that may be reservable. Contact these departments directly for more information about their spaces and availability:

Student Success (located in 150 Hoover Library Learning Commons)

SASS / Testing Center (located in 105 Hoover Library Learning Commons)

Study Rooms

Study Rooms may be reserved by students online. When the rooms have not been reserved they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Conference Rooms

The Board of Trustees Conference Room, the Leon and Betty Wahrhaftig Conference Room, and the 210 Conference Room are intended for the use of appropriate college, community, or professional groups. 

  1. Meetings may be scheduled by any member of the college administration, faculty or staff. Reservation issues should be reported to Conference Services.
  2. Sanctioned student organizations may hold meetings in these conference rooms but reservations must be made by the faculty advisor and at least one member of the college administration, faculty or staff must be present at any meetings in these rooms.
  3. Before leaving, it is the responsibility of the faculty/staff sponsor or meeting organizer (as listed on the room reservation) to ensure all equipment is secure and the room is left in a neat and orderly fashion.
  4. Beverages and other refreshments may be provided by food services for these spaces and must be arranged by the meeting sponsor or convener, not by library staff.
  5. Meetings must begin and end within the library’s operating hours.
  6. To reserve one of the conference rooms, please use the college’s online Space Reservation page.
  7. If this is not a college sponsored event please contact Conference Services. There may be fees associated with the reservation.
  8. A/V and computer equipment issues should be reported to IT (410-871-3390)
  9. Facilities issues (including housekeeping) should be reported to Physical Plant (410-857-2710)

Richwine Room. This room is managed by the English Department, not the library. Reservations are also made using the online Space Reservation page. 

Library Classrooms

Library Classrooms (Benson, 314, and LL14) may be scheduled by a faculty member for a library instruction session provided by a librarian.  Please see our Instruction Policies for more details on scheduling library instruction sessions.
