How to do Library Research: Find Websites

Google Search Tips

  • Search for one term or another (rather than searching for all terms)
    •   new OR latest

  • Search for a specific phrase (not just keywords in any order)
    •   "global warming"

  • Search only within a specific type of website (.edu - educational ; .gov - government)
    • site:.gov nutrition

  • Search only within a specific website (example searches the mcdaniel website for the word diversity)
    • site:.mcdaniel.edu diversity

  • Did you know that google automatically truncates?
    • review = review, reviews, reviewed, reviewer, etc.
