Human Library: Overview

What is a Human Library?

The Human Library™ is, in the true sense of the word, a library of people. It is a global initiative and hands-on learning platform designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue.

A Human Library is a place where real people, "Books," are on loan to "readers" for 20 minute conversations in which readers can ask questions and discuss their shared experiences and differing perspectives. It is a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated, and answered.
