Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Hoover: Collections and Programming

Library Collections

The fundamental importance of strong and diverse library resources to a quality liberal arts education is inherent to its mission. The library provides access to a wide range of information resources so that students and faculty alike may pursue knowledge beyond the boundaries of the classroom. In addition to providing collection support to our academic departments, the library also specifically funds the purchase of materials related to DEI in Higher Education, a collection cooperatively developed with the Director of Diversity and Inclusion. For more information, please see our approach to collection management here

Programming

Hoover Library works in conjunction with student organizations and academic departments to create, promote, and support diverse programming throughout the academic year. Such programming includes things like book displays, documentary viewings and discussions, relevant holiday celebrations, etc.
