Barbie in the real world? That's impossible!... Or is it?
Barbie and Ken have traveled all the way to the real world and they have some questions. Luckily, Herbie, librarians, and the McDaniel community are here to help! We've even heard the Terror may be afoot as well. Hopefully he's not up to too much mischief.
In this virtual Open House, you will travel with Barbie, Ken, and Herbie Hoover to Hoover Library and back, doing activities to learn new skills along the way. You'll explore archives, evaluate sources, learn how to find books and other materials, and figure out how search strings affect the results of your search. Once you complete all the activities and submit the Google Form (after putting in your email address), you'll be entered into the raffle to win a COMFY, a blanket you can wear.

At this event, you'll check in at the welcome table in the back of the first floor. You'll receive an Activity Checker that you'll take with you to all four activity stations. Once the activity is complete, the librarian at the station will mark it off. Collect all four marks and return your Activity Checker to the welcome table to be entered in our raffle! This year's prize is a delightfully green COMFY, a blanket you can wear.
The Open House should take you approximately 30 minutes to complete, depending on how quickly you complete each activity and whether you do so individually or with a partner or small group. You may participate as many times as you like, but only one raffle entry per person is allowed. The raffle prize winner will be announced after the virtual game is completed at the end of September.

Visit the table outside the Hoover Library entrance once you're unpacked to meet the librarians and library staff. Find out about services and resources available through the Library, take a self-guided tour of the building, and grab some free swag and snacks!
