Wellness as a term was partly inspired by the preamble to the World Health Organization’s 1948 constitution which said: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”
Over time, wellness has been defined in increasingly granular and interdependent facets, as few as six and up to eleven. A common construct is eight dimensions:
